NATIONWIDE PROTEST TO DEFUND PLANNED PARENTHOOD

August 22nd will see a nationwide protest across America against government funding of Planned Parenthood, which receives over $550 million annually. I call on Catholics and evangelical Christians to come together tomorrow in the closest of any of 64 cities across America to demand Planned Parenthood stop receiving government funding.

 It's an important question that must be asked of all Christians, not just Catholics. Evangelical denominations and churches should be using this moment in time to rally their memberships to pressure their Members of Congress (Senate and House of Representatives) and state governments to stop funding Planned Parenthood. A great way of showing this is by rallying together tomorrow.

 The issue is nothing less than the dignity and sanctity of human life that God has created in His Image -- and calls us to protect and care for. Abortion and harvesting baby body parts is a direct and heinous assault of that dignity and sanctity.
